Dealing With Disappointment

At times when you are disappointed with a certain person or the outcome of things, don’t let it overwhelm you. For example; people can disappoint you with broken promises regarding what they say they can do or give you. Don’t allow this to get you down. Focus on the big picture. The positive outcome is just around the corner. Make the proper adjustments and move on to plan B. Do not wallow in bitterness or disappointment – just let it go, but remember that you can’t trust that person or situation again. If the person is upfront and tells you that they couldn’t make it happen or deliver on the promise then accept them for being honest and move on. Don’t lose faith, but be cautious the next time.

Put all your energy into your work and you will soon see the reward for all your efforts. No matter what type of work that you do always do your best and you will reap the rewards. Two fighters training out of the IFC gym put all their energy and focus into their training and reaped the rewards. Congratulations to Razvon Conjanu and Dwayne Johnson.

I Apologize To My Fans… I Will Find Out If I Need Surgery…
Published November 8, 2011 | I have a tear in my patellar tendon. I will find out if I need surgery to repair it.
It was clear there was something wrong with my leg in the second round but we didn’t know the extent at that time.
Yes the injury is serious, but I want to apologize to all of you that I let down.
I had a ton of support going over there and I feel as though I let a lot of you down.
I promise you, I will keep my weight down and I WILL be back!
Even though this injury has set me back, I feel good and will keep the weight off.
And to some of the comments I’ve seen and heard after the fight…
Man, you trying to write me off? I’m not going anywhere!
I was a one-legged fighter from the second on. I couldn’t plant, throw power shots, I couldn’t do nothing.
Every time I threw a right hand I felt like I was going to fall on my face.
I just have to go back to the drawing board and see where we go from here…
I’m Not Going Anywhere…
Published September 9, 2011 | After watching the Haye/Klitschko fight I have decided to focus more on my boxing career. The only reason that my team and I accepted the MMA fight against Ken Shamrock is that the fighters rated in the top ten or twenty don’t want to fight me. I will not bow down to the politics of boxing. I’ve got 82 professional fights. I still love to fight and I’m in the gym every day. No one can show me where I was beat-up in a fight. Those writing negative comments about me can kiss my a_ _! People talk about how I look, but I can fight. I don’t run from my opponent’s. People run their mouths about my weight, but if you check my weight for the heavyweight division it’s about the same except for my last fight. It’s like my Pops said, “The day I get my ass beat, it’s time to stop fighting”.
That fight on Saturday was ridiculous. Nobody wanted to engage in physical contact. At some point in time I will take an MMA fight, but right now I’ve got a mission to accomplish. I will defend my World Championship IBA belt and I am gunning for the WBA,WBC,WBO and IBF belts as well. I’m not going anywhere.
James Toney Invading Russia…
Published September 9, 2011 | All-time-great boxing champion James “Lights Out” Toney is turning a negative into a positive… As in he’s positive he’s going to Russia to kick Denis Ledbedev’s ass.
After training extremely hard in preparation, Toney was informed not long ago that his unified rules bout with MMA hall-of-famer Ken Shamrock would be delayed until early part of 2012. Already in terrific shape and weighing near the cruiserweight limit of 200 lbs.
Toney has decided to instead re-focus on his boxing career and target the #1 cruiserweight contender Denis Ledbedev, who recently knocked out one of his old-time rivals, Roy Jones Jr.
“November 5, I’m going to invade Russia and show this punk what happens when he messes with the USA,” said the always quotable Toney.
“I’m calling it ‘Lights Out in Russia’ because he’s just the first one I’m going to whip. After I beat up this Ledbedev, I’m going back to Heavyweight after the one too afraid to fight the Klitchko sisters. Povetkin, I’m kicking his ass too!”
Toney was last seen in the ring in February when he pitched a 10-round shutout over veteran Damon Reed. He is the current IBA Heavyweight Champion.
“If they think the Roy Jones fight was big over there, wait till I get there and tell them all what I think about European fighters bringing great American fighters over there once they’re showing signs of age and acting like beating them means anything. The Roy Jones that this Ledbedev beat was finished.
I’m ready and I’m as good as I’ve ever been. Watch what I do to him. And now I hear Povetkin wants to beat up Evander Holyfield, he’s been done since I knocked his ass out in 2003.
If Povetkin isn’t scared he can jump in the ring after I put his teammate away on November 5th” Toney says he was offered to face Ledbedev at a catchweight, but has been training so hard for his Shamrock showdown that he won’t need any allowances.
“I’m going to beat his ass right at his weight class, so he can’t make any excuses”. The last time James Toney fought at this weight he beat the than undefeated IBF Cruiserweight Champion Vasiliy Jirov in what became 2003 fight of the year. “I’m going to do it again in November.” James ” Lights out” Toney proclaimed.
